Moon lamp

The woods were being thinned last autumn and there were loads of cut branches of the birch trees just lying about. I collected a couple of branches and then I found a piece that reminded me of a ritual offering to the elements.

Birch is holding up her branches and drawing down the power of the moon to empower her growth. She is also wearing a crown of birch bark.

The moon light she is holding is a rechargeable lamp. It changes colour and lights her upturned face.
