I was asked to paint this portrait after Ben sadly passed. He had lived a full happy doggie life, and I knew both dogs well, having met them years ago during my walks locally with my own dogs. Although it is sad when one of your closest buddies pass, knowing they had the best life makes it easier to bear.
I had a nice clear photo to use as reference and was instructed to “do my thing”. I decided to place them in the woodland where I had first met them, as it seemed appropriate.
Following is the reference photo and the finished painting. The recipient was very pleased and invited me into his home to show me where he was going to place the painting, in pride of place in his living room. I was honoured that he, and his family, loved the painting so much.
