I had a concept of painting strong women who inspire me. The idea was conceived after my self portrait series! 😜
My lovely friend Pip agreed to pose for me to paint her and I was thrilled. She is a beautiful soul so I travelled far, far away to meet her to sketch and take photos of her. Unfortunately, or maybe not, the weekend became a party, during which our host plied us with so much alcohol and pizza that I’m surprised we remembered what we were actually there for! However, we did manage to find a moment to be professional and Pip posed beautifully. The weather was sunny and warm which added to the overall ambience.
This relaxed and contemplative image is the result of that fabulous weekend. Pip herself chose the name as it has meaning for her, as does Glastonbury Tor and Somerset, which is where she grew up.
