The Goddess Morrigan stares in horror at the pollution of the waters, while her alter ego, the Raven, carries off the souls of the dead. The painting symbolises the systemic poisoning of Mother Earth and her fighting back (note the Corona bottle floating in the stream). There is some hope though, the birch trees in the background symbolise growth and renewal, and daffodils are little yellow harbingers of spring.
There are standing stones in the background and the sky looks on in interest.
