During a clear out, I came across my portfolio from my time at Lincoln College of Art. I found some old paintings and sketches from a self portrait project and decided to create three new self portraits using these sketches and old photos. I was exploring the different phases of my life from youthful lack of confidence, then conforming to an accepted role in society, to my new freedom from the confines of other’s expectations.
The paintings are entitled “Insecurity”, “Acquiescence” and “Look at my new ring”
